The Books on my Bedside

Amidst the clutter of technological gadgets that surround me, i always try to place within arms reach some books given to me which i always always try to find time to read, even just a few pages each night. For some reason, seeing these books on my bedside table give me some form of comfort and assurance, that i still am a human of the real world, grasping for knowledge, support and even experience through the power of real pages, of real books written through passion, diligence and patience by great minds. I was never the techy type, as my close friends know. Though i have nothing against palms and ipads, I struggle with digital games, and much more with digital books. I never felt i ever belonged in this modern generation of technological renaissance like i always say. Thus, the smell of the books' pages, the thought of seeing such works of literary art before me, toiled over time to be completed by the authors provides me good company especially at night. The Holy Bible is a staple. I never leave home for vacations anywhere in the world without it. What can be a greater source of all good than the Bible. At the moment, i also find joy, insights and comfort in these great books: Footprints For Men, Embrace the Struggle and the Power of Your Subconscious Mind. Like cocktails and hors d'oeuvres that you enjoy for its unpredictable concoctions and variety, i read bits and pieces from each, having no patience to read through just one at one time. Thank God for books. They feed my soul as fulfilling as the food that feeds my hospitable appetite. So what's your bedside book? Later then....
