Of Sanitary Napkins and Miracles

I would like to apologize for the title...I myself was not quite amused when my partner told me about the "supposedly" miraculous healings of a sanitary napkin that releases negative ions. With some hesitation, i gave in to my curiosity and watched the videos about it uploaded in YouTube and read through articles about it published in the web. Not surprisingly, i was amused! I am not quite the hesitant consumer like you are most probably. I am easily impressed, amused and confused most of the time by press releases, marketing ploys, pr gimmicks, sampling events, ads, etc. hehe. But in this case, i guess i can say I was both curious and interested yet cynic at the same time. So anyway, i did try the miraculous strip found inside the sanitary napkin which they say holds much power for healing. There are like 101 ways to use the strip for whatever healing powers it holds. Soak it in your water bottle to cure your insides. Rub the strip on your skin for aesthetic irritations and diseases. Stick it on your forehead to cure headaches. Place it on your nosebridge to cure a running nose. So on and so forth. Creativity is your only limitation to this strip's healing powers. And so i did all those. I would refuse to say if it did some miracle stuff on me or not. I would not be the authority to say such. And i would not want to create false hopes here. Let's just say i still have a strip stuck to my body right now and i will be sleeping with a strip on my forehead tonite. hehehehe....The choice is yours. Like i always tell myself, what wouldn't cause me death nor frustration i will try to embrace. So with this so called miraculous strip with negative ions from a sanitary napkin, i try to seek some form of answer with the hope it will also do me good as it did the others. To each his own, right? So the next time you seem me around with a small sanitary napkin stuck on my forehead, say not a word. haha. May i finish this by saying God still is our most effective healer, when all else fails--pray...Later then....

My Fuss Over My Pair of Gucci Shoes

In my November 2009 trip to SFO, i went on a shopping binge with my bestfriend with the hopes of finding happiness amongst the beautiful brands of world. Amongst my good finds were this pair of Gucci shoes priced at USD470 from around USD700. Filled with delight about my great conquest, i went home to my good old Philippines eager to reward my feet with Gucciness. Fastforward July 2010 and i have yet to wear it as i have been trying to sell it to friends for USD400 without any takers. My reason for being? I came to realize my feet can do without wearing a luxurious pair of shoes, but a number of poor children can't do without education. Yes, USD400 was enough to send 4-5 kids to a good enough private school in the Philippines. And i wouldn't even feel like a loser letting go of a pair of Gucci shoes. I have like atleast 50 other pairs of good shoes in my closet, trading off this pair would not make me saint in the eyes of God but it sure makes me feel good to have realized this. Later then....

Over time

Funny how so much can happen over a short period of time...just a few months ago i was a lost being contemplating on the meaning of life, seeking refuge in San Francisco in the arms of my bestfriend and close friends after going thru an emotional crisis...lalim di ba, pare? hehe...Going thru my fb posts of what was then seem to be so far from what my reality is right now...though problems are still around me as reality check suggests, no amount of escaping to anywhere in world really does provide one the answer when the answer lies deep within oneself...enough already, i know! By the way, Napa is it. Later then...

34 Years and a half and counting

Wasn't it just yesterday that i celebrated my 34th birthday with a bang? And here i am at 34 and a half trying to blog something about my life because everybody else seem to be doing. Maybe i'll have fun doing it..maybe not...but atleast blogging something right now keeps me from doing something not worth doing...like smoking? Finally, i have kicked the bad habit at 34 after smoking for 14 long years...God knows how much damage i have done to body...better late than never though...i would like to think God will erase the nicotines inside me and let me start anew...or would that be asking too much? I can try getting hooked on something new instead...like eating...or how about some kind of sports that will help me get into shape...wakeboarding sounds cool..badminton maybe...though i'd rather do something less inconvenient..i really hate the hassles of preparing for an exercise...can i just do a sport in my office attire? i can run in leather shoes...bad idea i know! The one thing i enjoy doing most this past 34 years and a half is drinking coffee and talking to people...chat chat chat....about movies, about other people, about business, about stuff..oh and politics too...nothing like a good afternoon exchanging words over coffee..aaah...just like what i am doing right now i guess...which reminds me..it's time for my afternoon perk...cheers for Starbucks coffee...whoever started it deserves an applause...kudos from me...i live for coffee...and Starbucks coffee makes me live for more...beer i can do without...i know how uncool that one sounds but i was never a beer drinker this 34 years...You may wonder what my social alcohol would be-- Kurant 7 is it! Cheers! Not now, but tonite hopefully. Trying to nurse a running nose right now. Must be the undecisive weather we've been having lately. I've been hating the weather! Can't it atleast decide for once how it wants to be for the day? Or atleast for the next 6 hours? Bright and sunny or cloudy with thunderstorms? It makes we wanna just stay in bed and ignore the weather happenings outside. Alright so that's just some lame excuse of mine to stay in bed. I love my bed more than anything--well, not really but i do love my bed. It's my most perfect getaway, my favorite destination more than all the countries I have been to this past 34 years and a half. My bed knows me and accepts me and loves me more than anyone or anything in this world. Well not really but it really does. It's been with me for three years only but it knows me like i know myself. Timecheck: coffee time. It's been too much blog, isn't it? Or is this more of a blab? Is there like a rule how many words make an interesting blog? Later then...
