Perk Cup!
Guys do check this out http://www.starbucks.com/coffee/starbucks-via-instant-coffee/share. I'm not really a sucker for on line interactives but this one is cute and fun! Don't expect free coffee though. hehe. Enjoy! Later then...
Moving Movies
Three movies have captivated my soul this week. One [The Lakehouse], i have seen before though it took five years later for me to completely appreciate and comprehend it given my attention deficiency tendencies, haha. Second [The Book of Eli], i have took notice through critics' rave reviews months back but only recently did i bravely sit down to watch it. The first few minutes can be quite violent, in an ironical contrast to how the story would evolve. And boy, was i moved to my most chilling nerves enough to kiss THE book that sits patiently on my bedside table after watching it. Third [Letters to Juliet], i fell in love with just minutes through the movie and smitten by it as i stare at the closing credits in daze. I will bet my morning coffee that even Shakespeare will cry over it. Amanda Seyfried and Christopher Egan would have given Romeo and Juliet much competition. I am no film connoisseur and i have a baggage of tears to spare for the greatest of love stories, so don't take my word for it. Just sit back, relax and open your hearts to these three inspiring films of love. Later then...
The Books on my Bedside
Amidst the clutter of technological gadgets that surround me, i always try to place within arms reach some books given to me which i always always try to find time to read, even just a few pages each night. For some reason, seeing these books on my bedside table give me some form of comfort and assurance, that i still am a human of the real world, grasping for knowledge, support and even experience through the power of real pages, of real books written through passion, diligence and patience by great minds. I was never the techy type, as my close friends know. Though i have nothing against palms and ipads, I struggle with digital games, and much more with digital books. I never felt i ever belonged in this modern generation of technological renaissance like i always say. Thus, the smell of the books' pages, the thought of seeing such works of literary art before me, toiled over time to be completed by the authors provides me good company especially at night. The Holy Bible is a staple. I never leave home for vacations anywhere in the world without it. What can be a greater source of all good than the Bible. At the moment, i also find joy, insights and comfort in these great books: Footprints For Men, Embrace the Struggle and the Power of Your Subconscious Mind. Like cocktails and hors d'oeuvres that you enjoy for its unpredictable concoctions and variety, i read bits and pieces from each, having no patience to read through just one at one time. Thank God for books. They feed my soul as fulfilling as the food that feeds my hospitable appetite. So what's your bedside book? Later then....

The Carrot of My Eye
My love for carrots started ever since i was kid. For some reason, i was a bunny trapped in a boy's body. From as long as i can remember, i had the habit of munching on carrots like a rabbit would do. But as i grew older, when my world widened with a lot more of other tastier things to eat, not all of which were good, my carrots and i would only meet once in a while; Vegetable salads and i don't exactly meet eye to eye. But tonight, God brought forth before me my childhood sweetheart once again. As Kirbs and I found ourselves enjoying the different "street" foods and drinks carts at SM Supermarket in Makati, there i found like shining gold the all natural, all authentic carrot juice made from a bunch of real carrots that they would grind right before your very eyes. Aaaah, it was the absolute healthiest and yummiest vege juice drink i have ever tasted. My love for wheatgrass would have to take the second seat now to my morning drinks. Googling about this great vegetable, the mighty carrots, i find out, are not only rich in Vitamin A like we all already know but it's also rich in dietary fibre, antioxidants and minerals. Thus upon getting home, Kirbs and I bring out his mom's Juice Maker that was never used from our kitchen cabinets with my specific instructions to our dear Yaya G-an to create us a glass of carrot juice drink a day to keep the eye doctor away. I will also start exploring other vegetable juice drinks that we can enjoy each day. Cheers to carrots. Cheers to juicers! Later then...

Got Steak-Stoned at Wagyu!
Never thought steak can actually get me high! haha. I have always been wanting to try Wagyu Stone Grill in Eastwood Libis for a long long long time and THE day finally came last Saturday. T'was a bit pricey but it was all so worth it. The 700g T Bone steak was the juiciest ever. And grilling it right in front of me over hot stone made the experience very unique. If this becomes an addiction, i better myself find another good source of income. The rest of what i feasted on were welcome bonuses to a great indulging evening. MUST TRY: their orange juice shake. Hell's Gates At Chocolate Fire!
Hell opened its gates at Chocolate Fire in Salcedo Village. It's a sinful world of chocolates prepared in many ways the imagination can concoct. My personal fave's are the chocolate dipped potato chips, choco coated pretzels and choco coated raspberry and strawberries. And if you wanna sin all the way, do indulge on their Chocolate Ganache and Tiramisu cakes with a cup of hot chocolate. Chocolate Fire is a sure fire way to get those libidos up and running with chocolate high! Go sin! Later then...
The Green Applest of 'em all!
Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the sweetest, sourest and yummiest of 'em all! Fairy God Mamma must have heard my ice cream wishes! Something new, something fresh, something fruity! Gelatissimo's [Greenbelt 5] Green Apple ice cream is a must try. If this doesn't boost your mood, nothing else will. [Oh, and while you are at it, do try their Rock Melon]. Enjoy! Later then....
My Affair with Felix
For the third time this month, i found myself indulging at Felix in Greenbelt 5. I have to say the menu is excellent and i sure do appreciate good ambience and excellent service. Aside from my favorite Tango [a plateful of sea bass, scallops, mashed potatoes and asparagus and foie gras], i discovered new love with a healthy serving of Mambulao-fresh malunggay and tofu soup. Other indulgence on the table that my Kirbs and some friends and I feasted on last night included the refreshing Pompei Salad, mouth watering Tony Lobster with Apple and Pear Salad [ P4436.50 for 4.67 grams!], Ostrea [baked oysters], Gen San [aptly named; need i say it's tuna salad in a spoon] and The Carpenters [scallops and prawns with vegetables]. Tho my experiences at Felix have been consistently wonderful, i would have to say to my dear Felix that we would have to take a respite for a while as too much of something so good would not do us good. Viva Via!
Still can't believe it's not traditionally brewed coffee by virtue of how instantly you prepare it...unzip, pour and stir....So what's brewing on your side of the world? cheers! VIA sticks now available in all Starbucks outlets nationwide. Leaving home without it is like going to war without bullets. Later then...
Cerchio!
My family and I found ourselves breezing through EDSA all the way from Makati to try QC's latest resto called Cerchio. The place was simply refreshingly beautiful with its bright white walls and green and grey accents. The food was good, as expected, but the ambience "tasted" so much better. It was the best fried tilapia fillet i have ever had in my whole life. The yummy and juicy crispy pata and grilled liempo were guilt full and sinful. It was truly a Sunday lunch experience--relaxing, light and uneventful...Cerchio is located at #76 Scout Limbaga Street, Tomas Morato, QC. Do call for reservations beforehand at 3550998. Oh, and the Panacotta was heavenly [must try!]. Later then....

Double Date with Petra and Pilar
Published with Blogger-droid v1.5.5
Finally, Some Good News!
When i found out that Starbucks has finally come up with the new VIA Ready Brew, elation was a real understatement. Finally, how convenient it would be to enjoy fresh, brewed Starbucks coffee without having to go through the brewing process. Hehe, so call me a brat but brewing is much too a hassle for me. That's why i just choose to run to Starbucks Cristina than to brew a cup of coffee myself. With a VIA packet that's so handy, i will never be without great Starbucks coffee wherever my trolley and feet would take me. Can't wait for it to hit the stores on Sept. 15!!!!Cheers! Later then....

When all else fails-indulge!
Others shop. Some people shout. A lot would smoke and drink. I eat! When life brings you down, all you have to do is get up again, and eat. Atleast that's what i do. These past 6 days i ate out in more restos than i ever did in the last 6 months. Too many to mention, i'll just share a few that really stood out and knocked my palates out. UCC's Lengua Omelette, Jolly Dopey's Afritada and a whole lotta delicious rice meals at less then P100 [hole in wall resto in Libertad St. Pasay, Starbucks' new Apple something pastry and my favorite Cold White Mocha with an extra serving of dark roast coffee jelly, Mr. Jones' milkshakes and Mac and Cheese and 2 dogs in a bun and honeyed fried chicken with mashed potatoes, Savory's classic fried chicken which i think is the juiciest and yummiest fried chicken in town, Country Style's coffee and sugar raised donuts tandem and Greenbelt 5's Kai's cook your own steak and its most refreshing Grape Shake. Can't imagine how i divulged all this in over a few days. The weighing scale must be shouting back already-hit the gym- if only it could. Next Stop: Burgos Circle's Dineli. Later then...
