My Affair with Felix

For the third time this month, i found myself indulging at Felix in Greenbelt 5. I have to say the menu is excellent and  i sure do appreciate good ambience and excellent service. Aside from my favorite Tango [a plateful of sea bass, scallops, mashed potatoes and asparagus and foie gras], i discovered new love with a healthy serving of Mambulao-fresh malunggay and tofu soup. Other indulgence on the table that my Kirbs and some friends and I feasted on last night included the refreshing Pompei Salad, mouth watering Tony Lobster with Apple and Pear Salad [ P4436.50 for 4.67 grams!], Ostrea [baked oysters], Gen San [aptly named; need i say it's tuna salad in a spoon] and The Carpenters [scallops and prawns with vegetables]. Tho my experiences at Felix have been consistently wonderful, i would have to say to my dear Felix that we would have to take a respite for a while as too much of something so good would not do us good. Still can't believe it's not traditionally brewed coffee by virtue of how instantly you prepare it...unzip, pour and stir....So what's brewing on your side of the world? cheers! VIA sticks now available in all Starbucks outlets nationwide. Leaving home without it is like going to war without bullets. Later then...

Cerchio!

My family and I found ourselves breezing through EDSA all the way from Makati to try QC's latest resto called Cerchio. The place was simply refreshingly beautiful with its bright white walls and green and grey accents. The food was good, as expected, but the ambience "tasted" so much better. It was the best fried tilapia fillet i have ever had in my whole life. The yummy and juicy crispy pata and grilled liempo were guilt full and sinful. It was truly a Sunday lunch experience--relaxing, light and uneventful...Cerchio is located at #76 Scout Limbaga Street, Tomas Morato, QC. Do call for reservations beforehand at 3550998. Oh, and the Panacotta was heavenly [must try!]. Later then....

I'll never be without great coffee with my Starbucks VIA!

With a Starbucks VIA Ready Brew in tow, i will never be without great Starbucks coffee! I'm having my 2nd cup today already. No fuss, no hassle. Just a cup of hot water and a packet of Splenda and i'm all set to finish my day's work. This for me is the best thing to happen to Starbucks coffee after my all time favorite Honey Orange Mocha!!! Please Starbucks, bring it back!!! I am begging with a capital P! [Please!]  Can't wait to give VIAs to friends this Christmas! Cheers Starbucks. hehe..Later then...  

Double Date with Petra and Pilar

Kirbs and I finally tried Enrile's much talked about resto along Export Road near Pasong Tamo. I would drive by it almost every night after work on my home but never really stopped to try the food. I'm so glad Kirbs and I gave up wanting to brave the crowds of girls going to the Cosmo Bash at the World Trade last night and instead decided to have a quiet and sumptous dinner at P&P. The very saucy lechon kawali sa gata, batchoy ni lola (first time i had batchoy without the noodles) and gorgeously presented sweet and sour meatballs were a real treat to cap a tiring work week. We also brought home for dad some of their deli delights-ranch style corned beef, smoked bacon, spanish sausage- which I can't wait to feast on. To top it all off, prices were fantastic at 150-250 a dish. How's that given its dramatic lightings and well planned ambience? Service was great, btw. Just be patient with parking as Export road gets clogged up around 6pm. Too bad though P&P is closed on weekends. Later then....

Finally, Some Good News!

When i found out that Starbucks has finally come up with the new VIA Ready Brew, elation was a real understatement.  Finally, how convenient it would be to enjoy fresh, brewed Starbucks coffee without having to go through the brewing process. Hehe, so call me a  brat but brewing is much too a hassle for me. That's why i just choose to run to Starbucks Cristina than to brew a cup of coffee myself. With a VIA packet that's so handy, i will never be without great Starbucks  coffee wherever my trolley and feet would take me. Can't wait for it to hit the stores on Sept. 15!!!!Cheers! Later then.... 

When all else fails-indulge!

Others shop. Some people shout. A lot would smoke and drink. I eat! When life brings you down, all you have to do is get up again, and eat. Atleast that's what i do. These past 6 days i ate out in more restos than i ever did in the last 6 months. Too many to mention, i'll just share a few that really stood out and knocked my palates out. UCC's Lengua Omelette, Jolly Dopey's Afritada and a whole lotta delicious rice meals at less then P100 [hole in wall resto in Libertad St. Pasay, Starbucks' new Apple something pastry and my favorite Cold White Mocha with an extra serving of dark roast coffee jelly, Mr. Jones' milkshakes and Mac and Cheese and 2 dogs in a bun and honeyed fried chicken with mashed potatoes, Savory's classic fried chicken which i think is the juiciest and yummiest fried chicken in town, Country Style's coffee and sugar raised donuts tandem and Greenbelt 5's Kai's cook your own steak and its most refreshing Grape Shake. Can't imagine how i divulged all this in over a few days. The weighing scale must be shouting back already-hit the gym- if only it could. Next Stop: Burgos Circle's Dineli. Later then...
